Well I remembered that i used to love chemistry when i was in 11th and 12th. So my topic name resembles a chemical equation this time ;). But the content is hardly chemical but is sure explosive. The above equation may make no sense to many but I'm sure there must be a few out there who will definitely appreciate it. Lets start the explanation of the equation.
First lets start with the left hand side. Both the words on the left are understandable atleast heavy metal is understandable I believe. Cello(s) is an instrument. It's a string instrument from the violin family. It is very similar to violin in looks but only a lot bigger. It produces a bass sound and is usually used in orchestras. Next the '+' sign indicates a combination of cellos & heavy metal. Now combine 4 Cellos and n number of heavy metal songs and you get 'Apocalyptica' Thats the best description any one can offer about Apocalyptica. Yup Apocalyptica is a four membered band all of whom are traditionally trained cellist(those who play cello) and together they play the covers of various heavy metal artists such as Metallica, Grieg, Pantera, Rammstein, Sepultura, Slayer, Faith No More.
I started listening to Apocalyptica only recently and believe me these guys are outrageously awesome. I recently downloaded their album "Plays Metallica by Four Cellos" which features some of the best metallica tracks like "Enter sandman", "The Unforgiven", "Sad But True" and all played on cellos. And the album was too good. Many of you may have listened to instrumentals but they usually play soft music or a musical score which includes lots of instrument but playing heavy metal which is characteristically loud, energetic with just one type of instrument is totally awesome. Hats off to Apocalyptica. Try listening to to their songs. Here is another one of their best album for listening. Click the link below to download.
